Hello Auditioning Dancers,
We are so excited to see your solo creations on Friday, August 19th! The solos on Friday are meant to be one-on-one personal time to honor and celebrate you as individual dancers beautifully and uniquely made! We so often are giving you choreography to perform, but we want to give you an opportunity and challenge you to use YOUR own voice because it is worthy, important, and worth sharing! We also want to give you one-on-one verbal feedback on what we’ve seen in your dancing this summer, previous dance years and where it can go next!
SOLO Criteria for Auditioning Levels 5-8 Dancers:
Pick from one of our 30 selected songs (Music below)
Pictures of song options also attached in case you don't use Spotify
Create a 30 - 60 second solo
You can start at the beginning or another part of the song. Be sure you communicate what time to start playing the music on Friday.
Choose between jazz, contemporary, ballet or sacred for your dance genre
Showcase your strengths
Must include a pirouette, battement, leap, and a jump
Have a clear beginning and a clear ending
Get creative and have fun!
Be Yourself! You have something beautiful and unique to offer and we can't wait to celebrate you!
Costumes:
If you’d like to wear a PSOD costume to elevate your solo performance on Friday, you’re welcome to find a costume that compliments their choreography, however it is not required to wear a costume.
We are here to support you and encourage you on your dance journey.
