PA Assessment Challenge- Saturday, January 21st, 2023 at PLC!
Hello PA Families!
We have exciting things coming up for our PA Program in the next two months! In two weeks PSOD will host our third annual PA Assessment Challenge Saturday, January 21st, at PLC! This is a great mid-year check-in and something our staff looks forward to each year. During the assessment, teachers will be writing feedback that dancers will receive, along with an attendance update, in their ballet classes the following week.
Assessment Focus:
General Skills: musicality, flexibility and performance quality
Body Alignment: use of center, turnout, execution of port de bras
Technical Skills: sautes, leaps, pirouettes and more!
Ballet, Jazz & Tap vocabulary
Dancers will also have the opportunity to showcase their skills and win speciality awards!
PA Assessment Challenge 2023 | Saturday, January 21st @ PLC:
PA Adv. & PA Int. Pointe |*During class: 11:00-11:45am
PA Beg. Pointe & Pre-Pointe at Grace|*During class: 1:15-2:00pm
PA Minis | 1:00-2:00pm
PA Levels 1-3 | 4:00-6:00pm
PA Levels 4 & 5 | 6:00-8:00pm
PA Levels 6-8 | 2:00-4:00pm
Attire | Please wear your PSOD performance tank, jacket, and black leggings over a black ballet leotard and pink tights. Please have hair in a neat bun, bring your dance shoes and a water bottle.
Performance Prep Bag | Dancers will leave with their performance tights & costume information sheets in preparation for PA Spotlight and Showcase performances.
PA Costumes | Costumes are arriving and dancers are going to look great on stage! We will be distributing them as they arrive over the next few weeks!
Saturday Ballet Technique and Pointe will meet as regularly scheduled at both locations this day, Saturday, January 21st.
*PA Pointe & Pre-Pointe Assessment with Miss Michelle and Miss Michaela:
Dancers in PSOD's pointe program will be assessed during their regular classes.
Int. Pointe & Adv. Pointe dancers will be combined this day at PLC and should ALL attend Int. Ballet Tech at PLC from 9:30-11:00am.
Both Power Up & PBT will be hosted from 8:45-9:30am at both studio locations this day.
Beg. Pointe & Pre-Pointe dancers will be assessed at their regular class time from 1:15-2:00pm at Grace.
Just a reminder, the PA Rehearsal Party is Friday, February 3rd at PLC. We will reveal this dance year's new dances for the first time! More information about the PA Rehearsal Party, PA Spotlight & PA Showcase will be released next week!
