Class Information

Tuition

All Recreational and Performing Arts classes are run in a nine month program from September until June. Yearly tuition covers approximately 30 dance classes this year, due to construction, plus dress rehearsal and is divided into nine monthly payments. All holidays and breaks are accounted for so that every class has the same number of dance classes in the 9 month dance year.

Dress Code

For your convenience, all Dress Code items may be purchased at Prairie School of Dance.

Health & Safety

To foster a healthy dance community, we continue to evolve our safety plans to meet the needs of our dancers and larger community. Masks are optional for dancers and families inside our buildings.

If your dancer is not feeling well, please stay home and join us back in the studio when you are feeling healthy! Dancers should always be 24 hours free of a fever before attending class.

Please follow the CDC’s Guidelines if you have been exposed or have tested positive for COVID-19.

Code of Conduct

CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE & CODE OF CONDUCT for dancers and dance families

  1. RESPECT EVERYONE | Treat everyone with kindness – in the studio, school, social media, online and via phone communication.  All words should positively reflect the values and morals of the school.

  • PSOD staff & teachers – use respectful body language & voices; no yawning, eye-rolling, leaning on barres, crossed arms, or disruptive chatter. Thank teachers at the end of every class.

  • Our shared spaces – respect the studio space, use quiet voices in the waiting area and keep belongings neatly along walls.

    • Families are welcome to hang out in the lobby areas while their dancers are in class. We designed the space for you to be here!

    • Parents/Guardians must supervise their children in the lobby and be respectful of the studio space to ensure the safety of their children and the rest our guests as well as the sustainability of our school spaces.

    • Please be mindful that we are fostering a welcoming and wholesome environment for all.
(Loud voices, inappropriate language or behavior will not be permitted.)

  • Your classmates – be inclusive, kind, and supportive of one another. Show up consistently and on time!

  • Yourself – be the bigger person if a classmate or situation is pulling you towards disrespectful behavior. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you are having a hard day. You deserve grace too.

  • Your families – they are investing a lot in your training, make the most of it!

2. BE POSITIVELY PRESENT | 90% of life is just showing up!

  • Be on time - present with mind, body, and spirit.

  • Talking or disturbances during class time will not be allowed.

  • Have a positive attitude & have fun!

3. MAKE IT COUNT | Maximize the time you get to spend in the studio!

  • Follow the Dress Code. (If you dress the part, you will feel the part!)

  • Only water bottles allowed in the classroom. (No gum, food, pop, phones or watches)

  • Work hard & celebrate your progress!
