Dancers, teachers, and parents gathered together this past Friday evening to reflect upon the powerful message of Psalm 139. God’s promise that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by him allows us to embrace our uniqueness and live in his identity. We are his daughters and his sons. We were made with sincere intention, purpose, and love. We have messy homes and messy hearts until Jesus comes into them. We have insecurities about our academic struggles, our acne, our body shape, our lack of friends, and our athletic failures. In these times of feeling like we are not enough, God reminds us that we are PERFECT AS WE ARE. He loves us unconditionally. We don’t need to earn his love. We received it the moment he laid his life upon that cross.
Whether we are teenagers or adults, God can use our challenges, disappointments, and insecurities to bring us closer in relationship to him. He wants to hear it all. He wants to be in conversation with you!
We live in a world full of advertisements, promotions, posts, and tweets telling us who we should be and who we are. We are surrounded by lies and pressures and are unable to be all that everyone is expecting of us. There are so many voices and so many people to please. The truth is that there is just one voice that we need to listen to. We need to listen to our Creator. We encourage you to be in conversation with God. Get familiar with his voice so that it is the LOUDEST among the crowd. TRUST him and his plan for your life. Do not apologize for your insecurities. Embrace them and allow God to use them. We are fearfully and wonderfully made and we praise God for that!
