This class combines the disciplines of Jazz and Hip Hop, giving the dancer exposure to both genres in either a 45 or 60 minute class.
Jazz is the style of dance often seen on Broadway or television. Students warm up with stretching, isolations, strengthening exercises, and “across the floor” exercises including turns and leaps. We’ll incorporate a combination that is usually fast-paced, rhythmically-based and danced to traditional jazz music and uplifting popular music. Jazz is a great discipline to help a dancer discover the joy of moving.
Hip Hop was originally inspired by street dance that now incorporates many elements of jazz. Our Hip Hop classes focus on isolations, stretching, rhythms, upper body strength, and funky footwork. All music and movement is age appropriate and chosen with great discretion. These classes are very fun and very popular!
