Creating the Perfect Ballet Bun for Recital

May 29, 2013 by · Leave a Comment

Do you have a touch of “Ballet Bun” anxiety?  It’s not recognized as an official disorder, yet we know many dance moms and dads panic at the thought of creating one!

Many of you have inquired about how to make that picture-perfect ballet bun for Dress Rehearsal (this Saturday) and Spring Recital (on Sunday)!  Bun-form kits are available for purchase in the PSOD office (and can usually be found at Target or Walgreens next to other hair styling products).  If you purchase your own form, don’t forget to purchase a pack of Bobby pins as they are a must when it comes to pulling-off this beautiful work of art.

How to Make a Ballet-Bun

* Please double-check with your child’s instructor if you are unsure as to how your dancer’s hair should be fixed for a performance; ballet-buns are not required for all classes/dances.
