Wondering what to do this Valentine’s Day apart from the usual dinner and a movie? Whether it’s with a date, with your friends or even with your Mom or Dad, we’ve got the perfect solution.
Our very own Prairie School of Dance teachers, Mallory Dykema and Allison Doughty are performing with Eclectic Edge Ensemble at the Ritz Theater in Minneapolis on February 17-20, 2012 at 8 p.m. nightly. Tickets are $15 each for general admission and are available online or by calling (612) 436-1129.
The dance show is titled, “Reeling Over Love” and EEE describes it as:
“A campy exploration of the differences between love in the movies and love in real life. Brought to life by memory filled tunes, a wonderful movie score written by local composer Josh Kramer…’Reeling Over Love’ questions the split between the magic of movies and real life.“
Eclectic Edge Ensemble is: “A contemporary jazz dance company with a diverse repertoire, who collaborates with local musicians, choreographers, and other artists to create musically and theatrically inspired work.”
Prairie School of Dance has worked with EEE in the past for summer dance intensives with Performing Arts students at the school. Our PSOD students had the opportunity to learn choreography from director, Karis Sloss, and then perform at the Ritz Theater in July of 2011.
Be sure to let us know how you liked “Reeling Over Love” if you head to the Ritz on Feb. 17-20, and watch the upcoming summer dance schedule for more opportunities to work with the talented dancers of Eclectic Edge in Summer 2012!
